The Evaluation Working Group facilitates the sharing of best practices in evaluation among Alliance members, with the goal of raising the level of evaluation capacity within the health research community. Strategies used to reach that goal include establishing common evaluation parameters, sharing evaluation tools, disseminating results, and combining and sharing data. There are many benefits of conducting joint evaluation projects, including the opportunity to benchmark against similar programs and to increase sample size, thereby improving confidence in evaluation research findings.
Three topical subgroups operate within the Evaluation Working Group:- Evaluating the impact of discovery science
- Assessing progress and impact in a venture philanthropy portfolio
- Evaluating the impact of career development awards
