American Society of Hematology (ASH) is pleased to announce a new award, the ASH Restart Award
I wanted to call your attention to the below message from ASH announcing a new award to support early career investigators as they grapple with the impact of the global response to the pandemic. It is moving at a rapid pace with a very near term deadline so it is particularly important for ASH to get the word out. If you would please share this as you think appropriate, we would be very appreciative.
Senior Director of Awards and Diversity
You have TWO WEEKS to submit a letter of intent to receive research funding in the wake of COVID-19!
Recognizing the challenges facing researchers as the United States and countries around the world work to abate the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the American Society of Hematology (ASH) is pleased to announce a new award, the ASH Restart Award. This award supports early career investigators who had to pause their research as a result of the pandemic.
Responding to urgent and time-sensitive needs, the first step is a mandatory and competitively reviewed letter of intent (LOI) that is open to early career members around the world. The LOI deadline is August 14. A select number of individuals will then be invited to apply. Details on the accelerated timeline of this program can be found on the ASH website.
The goal of this effort is to reduce the impact that the global COVID-19 pandemic response has had on the progression of research and careers for early career investigators in hematology. This program provides resources to support resumption of paused research and career stability in an uncertain environment.
Please note, this program is intended to be a needs-based program and well-funded investigators are asked to forgo applying to this award as ASH resources are limited.
Please share this email broadly with colleagues and help ASH make our members aware of this fast moving award program.
