    Hello HRA CEOs,
Lipedema Foundation’s healthcare premiums are jumping substantially for our new plan year. A few years ago, we moved from 100% employer paid premiums to 80% employer / 20% employee paid, in part to incentivize employees to pick plans that make the most sense for their individual situations as part of a strategy to manage overall benefits costs for the Foundation.
However, the substantial jump this year is hitting our staff members pretty hard, and we’re taking some time to consider our approach.
    1. Do you know of any recent benchmarking, or some good benchmarking sources, for the following information for health research funders (i.e., HRA members and similar)?
    – The types & ranges of plan choices that funders offer
    – The approaches funders take towards subsidizing premiums (e.g., % that is employee vs. employer paid, and how this might vary across plan types if at all)
    – How this insurance approach fits into overall benefits and compensation package considerations
    2. I’m also interested to know your organizations’ approaches to the above – I’d be happy to compile and send back the data to those who respond.
Thanks very much for any insight you might be able to provide!
    All the best,
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

I am happy to share what LBDA does. I can email you directly and you can feel free to include in your compilation, think it’s great for us to help each other out in this way.

    Hi Jonathan-

I am happy to share as well for your compilation. I also forwarded this article to my CFO over the weekend. It looks like our costs are going up ~15% in 2026 which appears to be more than the national average.
