Iridian Genomes is working towards a complete genome sequence for every described species on earth.

Full genome sequences of diverse taxa are instrumental to address a broad range of human health-related problems: identification of new antibiotics, genes involved in immunity,  brain and eye development, tissue regeneration after injury, and longevity.

In addition to human health, a complete set of species-level genomes will have a profound impact on biodiversity studies, providing new sets of tools for conservation efforts and allowing the identification of wildlife products, food, and live animals.  Breeding programs of endangered species can use genomic data to develop strategies to avoid inbreeding and preserve genetic diversity.
