The American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS) published findings from research it conducted on reviewer and applicant perceptions of criteria usage and risk evaluation in grant peer review. The manuscript, entitled “Risk evaluation in peer review of grant applications” was published online in late February 2018 in the journal Environment Systems and Decisions.

This session explored the intricacies of supporting research through effective partnerships. Through speakers and breakout discussion, we showcased effective models–from ongoing funder collaboratives to one-off partnerships–and identify best practices and challenges. Attendees left the session with insights and tips for exploring opportunities for collaboration. Panelists presented real-life examples of successful collaborations that have contributed to advancing biomedical research. Panelists discussed practical tips on how to find and set up successful partnerships–from defining a shared vision for success, developing strategies for leveraging resources and expertise, and evolving partnerships over time.
